The GVT hosting environment is world class.  It is maintained in a staffed, secure and monitored 24/7/365 third party environment.  

Both the primary site and the mirrored site (if applicable) are in different geographical power grids.  Our hosting facilities team has redundant Internet lines, power generators, air conditioning and a secure environment.  They specialize in hosting critical and confidential applications including automatic archival of data and storage. 

Disaster recovery plans and testing are in place.  Planned maintenance can be conducted with the onsite staff or in the event of a drive failure, they assist in swapping out a drive to get the primary site restored.  We have an uptime of 99.9%.  The remaining .01% is for upgrades.

• Generators with a Fuel Service Level Agreement that prevent disruption of power in the event of a major power outage.
    
• Physical Security that, through the use of finger print scanners, key cards, and driver license verification, inhibits unauthorized personnel from entering the data center. 
    
• HVAC that keeps equipment at safe operating temperatures.
    
• Advanced fire detection and suppression equipment designed to prevent fires and to suppress fires without damaging equipment.
    
• Raised floors to prevent water damage in the event that the advanced fire detection equipment malfunctions and sprinklers are used.
    
• Redundant high bandwidth internet connection that allows for reliable high speed connections.

What is a SAS70 Audit and Why Should it be Important to You?

What is SAS70?

SAS70 refers to a "statement on auditing standards"... as it relates to No. 70 {service organizations} and is a widely recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). 

The following is a statement from the SAS70 compliance website:

The standard lays down the requirement of in-depth audit of the service organizations control objectives and activities and the audit must cover the controls over information technology and its allied procedures.

In the context of the globalization of the economy... the service providers must show the adequacy of their internal safeguards and controls in respect of the processing of the data belonging to their various customers.

GVT undergoes a SAS70 audit every two years.  The requirements of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 make SAS 70 audit reports even more important to the process of reporting on the effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting.
